That's exactly right!
However, some questions:
1) Why won't a UPS protect larger appliances from brownouts? Is is the higher ampage that a UPS cannot supply?
2) these smaller surge protectors that can be fitted to fridges: are they 'one-time' items where the capacitor blows and you need to replace and also need to be aware they have blown?
